Antiochia
Antiochia or Antiocheia or Antiochea or Antiokheia may refer any of several Hellenistic cities in the Near East most, (most of them in Syria now Turkey) of which were founded or rebuilt by the several rulers named Antiochus during the Seleucid Empire:
- Antioch (Antiochia ad Orontem, Syrian Antiochia or Great Antiochia), now Antakya, Turkey
- Nisibis, aka Antiochia Mygdonia, in ancient Mesopotamia, now Nusaybin, Mardin Province, Turkey
- Antioch, Pisidia (also Antiochia in Phrygia), now near Yalvaç, Isparta Province, Turkey
- Aydın, also known as Antiochia, Tralles or Tralleis, now Aydın, Turkey
- Alabanda, aka Antiochia of the Chrysaorians, Caria, now Doğanyurt (formerly Araphisar), Aydin Province, Turkey
- Antioch on the Maeander (Antiochia ad Mæandrum), in Caria, formerly Pythopolis, ruins now near Kuyucak, Aydin Province, Turkey
- Antiochia, Lydia, precise location unknown, Turkey
- Samosata, aka Antiochia in Commagene, now Samsat, Adıyaman Province, Turkey
- Cebrene, aka Antiochia in Troad, Kevrin or Kebrene, now in Canakkale Province, Turkey
- Edessa, Mesopotamia, aka Antiochia on the Callirhoe, former capital of Osroene, later named Justinopolis and Edessa, now Şanlıurfa, Turkey
- Tarsus (city), aka Antiochia on the Cydnus or Tarsos, Mersin Province, Turkey
- Antiochia Lamotis (Antiochia in Isauria), now near Erdemli, Mersin Province, Turkey
- Antiochia ad Cragum (Antiochetta, Antiocheta, or Latin: Antiochia Parva), now Güney, Antalya Province in Turkey
- Antiochia ad Pyramum, ruins are now near Karataş, Adana Province, Turkey
- Adana (Antiochia in Cilicia), now Adana, Adana Province, Turkey
- Antiochia ad Taurum, in Cilicia later in Commagene, probably now Gaziantep, Turkey (less probably, Aleppo, Syria)
- Antiochia Paraliou, location unknown but some identify it with Antiochia ad Cragum; probably in Turkey
- Antiochia in Mesopotamia, also Antiochia in Arabia and Antiochia Arabis, probably near Viranşehir, Şanlıurfa Province, Turkey
- Nahavand aka Antiochia in Persis, also Antiochia in Media and Antiochia of Chosroes, later Laodicea in Media, now Nahavand, Iran
- Charax (Tigris) aka Antiochia in Susiana, later Charax, near the confluence of the Tigris and the Choaspes rivers, now in Iraq
- Antiochia in Sittacene, in ancient Sittacene, between the Tigris and Tornadotus, now in Iraq
- Hippos, Antiochia Hippos or Antiochia ad Hippum, in the Decapolis, now in Israel
- Antiochia Ptolemais, now Acre, Israel or Akko, Israel
- Umm Qais or Antiochia Semiramis, also called Gadara, now Umm Qais, Jordan
- Antiochia in Pieria, now Arwad, Syria
- Antiochia in Margiana, now Merv, Turkmenistan
- Antiochia in Scythia, on the Jaxartes (Syr Darya) river, now probably in Uzbekistan
